We all have a sleeping giant within us! I believe at times we are afraid to awaken that giant, because we really have doubts about what would really happen once the giant is awake - which is the great ability we all have to lead lives that are truly AMAZING! We hold back the giant because of our fears to live a life that is extraordinary. We say we want certain things, but are scared to face the road that leads us to that type of life.
There is a quote by a Mary Cholmondeley that talks about how we should awaken the giant, and allow the miracles we have inside of each of us become real:
"Every year I live I am more convinced that the waste of life lies in the love we have not given, the power we have not used, the selfish prudence that will risk nothing, and which, thinking pain, missed happiness as well. No one ever yet was poorer in the long run having once in a lifetime 'let out the length of the reins'."
Want to ask you today, what reins are you holding back? What are you holding in that if you just let it go, it would allow you to live a life that others only dream about. My brother sent me a quote talking about "If you couldn't fail - what would you try today!" I want to ask you, do you all have a dream list, or a painted portrait? I have written up my next year in a document that paints a perfect picture of my life as I see it - my Painted Picture. If you can do that or write up your goal sheet, and when asked the question, "IF YOU KNEW TODAY, YOU COULDN'T FAIL AT ANYTHING YOU ATTEMPTED WHAT WOULD YOU TRY!" - what would you say?
IF THE LIST YOU WOULD ATTEMPT TO DO IF YOU KNEW YOU COULDN'T FAIL - AND THE LIST YOU HAD FOR YOUR DREAMS AND GOALS ARE DIFFERENT - YOU ARE HOLDING BACK! You have a wish list - which means if all the stars line up and all the dust blows in a certain way - things will happen for you! But you don't have a painted picture of the life that is open to you and can become your reality!!
By holding back, you are holding back on love, holding back on opporunities, holding back on a life that was meant to be yours. I can tell you all one thing - and I made this choice awhile back; I will never ever "settle" again - I will never take the path of least resistance ever again - and if excellence and a life of remarkable is possible - why would you hold back on the reins? To make the ride easy and smooth? I want my ride to have bumps and potholes along with way to shake, rattle and roll that giant within me awake - and take on any and all fears - and have a life that I dream of, have visions of and continue to work toward on a daily basis!
LET OUT YOUR REINS TODAY - SLAP THE GIANT IN THE FACE TO WAKE HIM UP! MAKE TODAY AND THE REST OF YOUR LIFE AMAZING! I'M HERE FOR YOU! DON'T STEP BACK -MOVE FORWARD AND TAKE THE LIFE THAT CAN BE YOURS!!
